Are buyers buying?  Sellers are in one of three stages ( denial, acceptance, consolidation). What stage is your market in?

Tactics:

1. Re-evaluate and educate sellers, the cost of staying, pricing right now or following the market down.

11. Price it right or Learn how to say NO!!!

Chapter Business- How are you doing with selling your 2007 Trip raffle tickets. I’m sure lots of your friends and clients would like to receive a chance to win a trip to Aruba, Alaska, Ireland or Belize… If you need more tickets, have questions about trips or have money and stubs to turn in contact Patti Huro or her committee members.

Plan on making the most of all the opportunities Women’s Council avails you of. Remember the Florida Association of Realtors meeting August 21-26  Buena Vista PalaceLake Buena Vista,FL. A PMN class is offered, so get working on your designations during this quieter time. Developing new skills and learning new marketing techniques can really help in this changing market, for more information look at the state web site www.wcrfl.com.

Our nominating committee is looking for people who are interested in serving in a leadership capacity, please call Karen Rolland. Sharon Neuhofer will be looking for committee chairs for next year as well, please give her a call if you would like to serve.

Changes in the FAR  contract- be sure to check with your broker about the new FAR 9 contract to see how these changes will affect you and your clients. There are MANY significant changes, be sure to review and make sure you are knowledgeable about these. It’s all about service!

Maureen Rosenbaum

Maureen is originally from Long Island, NY and has lived in the Port Charlotte/North Port area for the last 17 years.  She is married to Richard and has four children.  Maureen and her husband Richard own and operate Premier Title of Florida.  Maureen has extensive experience in the real estate and mortgage lending business.  She previously worked for Barnett Bank as a mortgage lender for 10 years.  Thereafter, she was employed by Fero Construction and was in new home sales at Bobcat Trail for 5 years.  For the last 2 years she has been happily working alongside her husband at Premier Title.

What is WCR About?

WCR has given me a wonderful opportunity to share, receive and give support to a group of women that hold the same goals and professional standards that I work and live by. Pat Matthews, Gwinnett (GA) Chapter.


My WCR involvement challenged me to participate in my REALTOR7 association as a leader, and gave me the tools to succeed. In the process I become more interested in real estate and more successful. Ruby Lewis, Verdugo Hills (CA) Chapter.

I moved to Charlotte County from Rhode Island in 1984.  I started in real estate and WCR in 1999. When I first started in real estate, I worked with my husband, Ron as a buyer’s agent.

I was allowed the opportunity to start my own team in April of 2002. The Carol Pickford Team consist of two buyer agents, Meryl LeDuc and Jay Holmes and of course my right hand is Stacy Guffy, licensed assistant.  The first year as a team we were excited about receiving the Silver award.  We have continued each year to grow professional and personally.  We received the Gold award in both 2003 and 2004.

We have just received word that the team will be awarded the Platinum award at the Prudential Conference in San Antonio, Texas this month.  This award is presented to the top 2% of Prudential’s agents in the United States.  I am extremely proud of my TEAM.

I have been given another privilege to be the WCR District 13 Vice President.  I am proud of the chapters I am involved with-Englewood, Venice, Manatee, Sarasota and Port Charlotte- North Port-& Punta Gorda.  There is no doubt in my mind that District 13 will be the strongest district in the state because of the dedication and leadership teams in each chapter.

I have a daughter and a son and two step children.  I am very proud of my five grandchildren.

I would like to close by saying, “take time everyday to reflect on your freedom, friends and family”.
