One of the primary objectives of maintaining our Chapter’s roster on-line is that WCR members across the country can access your contact information, most often (we hope) for referral purposes. We have attempted to create a crisp image of professionalism in our new design, and believe we have succeeded in our initial efforts. We will continue enhancing the appearance and functionality of our rosters in order to attract additional business for all our members. In this regard, your suggestions are solicited.
As you are aware, the member information contained in our on-line roster is each member’s name, company affiliation, office address, office telephone number, mobile phone number and email address.
The new roster was designed with the ability to add a website URL below the email address and a business-card size image to the immediate right of each entry. These features were included for a number of planned purposes: first, to be an enhancement to the sponsorship packages that some of our affiliate members purchase; second, they are also presently made available at no charge to the current year elected Officers and Committee Chairs as well as all Past Presidents as an inducement to and in recognition of their contribution of time and effort our Chapter’s success; and third, to allow our members to “personalize” their image in the minds of our visitors.
To assist in defraying the additional costs incurred this year in the redesign of our website and to fund additional enhancements in the future, these features are now (or will soon be) available to all members at minimal cost.
At the March Board Meeting it was resolved that a member’s website URL can be added to their roster entry for a fee of $25.00 per year and the establishment of a price for adding the image was referred to committee. The present thinking of that committee is that the cost of adding an image will be a separate fee per year and the combination of the website URL and the image will be offered at a discounted amount.
Your website URL can be added immediately by remitting a check for $25.00 payable to WCR and simply emailing the information to me.
Subject to the Board’s approval at the April 21st Board Meeting, an image will also require appropriate payment to WCR and your submission of your image (in .jpg or .gif format) to me, preferably via email, so start designing it now. The maximum size permissible is 310Wx175H (pixels), and plans are to add capability to provide for animated .gif files (up to 150KB or a time limit of 20 second). If you opt for the URL now and the image in the future, the discount will be applied.
Websites will open in a new window (our chapter’s website will remain in the background) and will operate independently until that window is closed.
Images can be your business card or any image either relating to your business or a part of your advertising of your business. Your logo or your picture with your motto/slogan is another suggested alternative. Some entries in the national Referral Roster offer a stated referral rate to WCR members; this might work for you. All images will be subject to reasonable standards of content so as not to detract from the overall image of our website and/or other members.
